Five councils shortlisted for Legal Team of the Year in LLG Awards 2024
Five local authority departments are in the running for Legal Team of the Year at the LLG Awards 2024.
The shortlisted teams are:
- Brighton and Hove Council Legal Services
- Hackney Legal Services
- North Northamptonshire Council Legal Services
- Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council Legal Team
- West Northamptonshire Council Legal Services
The winner will be announced at LLG’s Spring Conference in Leeds on 7 June 2024.
The shortlists for the other awards are as follows:
Junior Lawyer of the Year
- Nkencho Okonta - London Borough of Hackney
- Samuel Pitchford - Pembrokeshire County Council
- Jack Biddle – Reading Borough Council
- Yasmin McGregor – Wakefield Coucil
- Jacob Martin – West Northamptonshire Council
Legal Professional of the Year
- John Wenham - London Borough of Hackney
- Alison Freeth – Warwickshire County Council
- Sioned Harper – Warwickshire County Council
- Cath Whitehead – West Northamptonshire Council
Excellence in Training Award
- Coventry City Council
- Gloucestershire County Council
- Wakefield Council
- Warwickshire County Council
- Wigan Council
There is no shortlist for the award for Significant Contribution to Local Government Law and Practice, won in 2023 by Stephen Taylor. The recipient in 2024 will be announced at the award evening.
