Join us for a two hour open workshop on onshore wind. We will be talking about challenges that local authorities would face in rolling out onshore wind and some of the big issues for discussion.
Topics: The session will feature:
- Stephen Cirell, a renewable energy consultant who has advised huge amounts of local authorities in rolling out renewables projects.
- Paul Evans, an expert from technical consultant Wardell Armstrong on the environmental and engineering challenges in rolling out onshore wind
- Emyr Thomas, partner at Sharpe Pritchard LLP, on planning challenges in rolling out onshore wind
- Nathan Wicks, director at Local Partnerships LLP, on financing and construction issues for onshore wind projects
- Rebecca Windemer, planning and communities lead at Regen, regarding onshore wind in local plans and depowering
- Steve Gummer, on power purchase agreements and issues related to onshore wind
Each speaker will speak for 10 minutes. In addition to our guest speakers we will be joined by experts from Net Zero Go and local authorities who will be able to talk first-hand about the issues as they see them.
About the 'Steves'
Steve Gummer Steve has significant experience in advising on infrastructure and PPP projects, especially in the regulated utilities sector. He has experience of advising on licence conditions and creating and developing financeable regulated project structures. He has worked on a number of bespoke regulated projects including in the nuclear sector and in the water sector including on Thames Tideway Tunnel and Portsmouth Water in developing a unique form of bulk supply arrangement on the Havant Thicket Project. Steve Cirell Steve C has worked in house in the public sector (latterly in a senior position), was an equity partner and in charge of local government work with an international law firm for 20 years and has written 18 books on various aspects of public law. He has advised across renewable projects mainly for local and public authorities. |
