Capsticks moves into social housing with acquisition of Coffin Mew team

One of the country’s leading healthcare law firms, Capsticks, has acquired the entire social housing team at Coffin Mew Solicitors.

Comprising three partners and a total of 25 lawyers, paralegals and administrative staff, the team will become part of Capsticks on 1 June 2013.

It was recently appointed to three out of four lots in a legal services framework set up by First Wessex Housing Assocation. These covered corporate, housing and property (the finance lot went to Winckworth Sherwood.

In a statement on its website, Capsticks said: “The social housing work fits very neatly with our social care strategy and particularly with our real estate and social enterprise work and complements our health and regulatory practices.”

“The combination of our joint expertise and skills will ensure our social housing clients receive cutting edge advice and enable us to expand that part of our business nationwide.”

The social housing team will continue to be based in Southampton.
