Browne Jacobson bolsters team with hire of ex-head of litigation at city council

National law firm Browne Jacobson has strengthened its administrative and public law team by recruiting the former head of litigation at Leicester City Council.

Anthony Cross will be based in the firm’s Nottingham office and report to partner Laura Hughes. He has previously held senior positions specialising in areas such as planning, highways, environmental, governance and standards issues, and also has a specialism in handling judicial reviews.

The move follows the hire by Browne Jacobson of consultant Tony Child and associate Ros Foster from DAC Beachcroft in May 2012.

Browne Jacobson’s Hughes said: “Anthony’s arrival, which follows on from the appointments of Tony Child and Ros Foster recently, is a key part of our strategy to establish one of the leading public sector legal teams nationally.”

Cross said: “It is exciting to be joining a team that acts for an impressive roster of national, regional and local public sector clients.”
