Isle of Wight names 11 firms to legal services panels

The Isle of Wight Council has named 11 firms to a framework agreement for legal services.

The local authority made 14 lots available. However, it received no tenders for the child care law lot.

The outcome for the 13 other lots was as follows:

  1. Commercial property law: Sharpe Pritchard; Clarke Willmott; DAC Beachcroft.
  2. Planning: Sharpe Pritchard; Clarke Willmott; Shoosmiths.
  3. Highways: Sharpe Pritchard; Clarke Willmott; DAC Beachcroft; Shoosmiths.
  4. Contract and procurement law: Sharpe Pritchard; Clarke Willmott; DAC Beachcroft.
  5. Employment law: Sharpe Pitchard; Clarke Willmott; DAC Beachcroft.
  6. Criminal law: Paris Smith; Blake Lapthorn; Darbys Solicitors.
  7. Education law: Sharpe Pritchard; Veale Wasbrough Vizards; Browne Jacobson.
  8. Housing law: Browne Jacobson; Clarke Willmott; Trowers & Hamlin.
  9. Adult care law: Anthony Collins; Browne Jacobson; DAC Beachcroft.
  10. Intellectual property law: Sharpe Pritchard; Clarke Willmott; DAC Beachcroft.
  11. Information and data protection law: Sharpe Pritchard; Browne Jacobson; DAC Beachcroft.
  12. Public law, including judicial review: Sharpe Pritchard; Clarke Willmott; DAC Beachcroft.
  13. Civil litigation: Sharpe Pritchard; Browne Jacobson; Clarke Willmott.

The award criteria saw price given a weighting of 40 and quality a weighting of 60.

The agreement will last for three years, with an option to extend for a further year at the sole discretion of the council.

The Isle of Wight did not set up the agreement on behalf of any other contracting authorities.
