Welsh housing association names 13 law firms to framework agreement

One of Wales’ largest housing associations, RCT Homes, has appointed 13 law firms to a framework for legal services.

The chosen firms were:

  • Hugh James;
  • Morgan Cole;
  • Berry Smith;
  • Clarkslegal;
  • Bevan Brittan;
  • Acuity Legal;
  • Geldards;
  • Trowers & Hamlins;
  • Devonshires;
  • TLT;
  • Consult Capital;
  • Freeth Cartwright;
  • Burges Salmon.

The award criteria were the most economically advantageous tender in terms of:

  1. Proposed account management and related team (weighting 20);
  2. Value added services (weighting 20);
  3. Social inclusion/social return on investment offered (weighting 20); and
  4. Pricing (weighting 40).

The legal services covered by the contract include: legal advisory services; corporate and governance; property and estates; construction, major projects, open spaces and environmental; employment and pensions; finance and insurance; procurement; intellectual property rights; and social legal services for tenants.

RCT Homes, which provides housing services to more than 20,000 people in Rhondda Cynon Taff, said it would make the framework available to other registered social landlords and housing associations within the South Wales area.
