North West Leicestershire legal team first to sign up to 'service exchange'

The legal department at North West Leicestershire District Council has become the first to market its services to other public bodies via the CapacityGRID ‘service exchange’.

The team said it plans to offer its services in the following areas:

  • Contracts and procurement;
  • Regulatory and enforcement;
  • Property;
  • Landlord, tenant and housing;
  • Planning and development;
  • Licensing; and
  • Corporate governance and standards.

The department is targeting educational establishments, charities and trusts as well as other local authorities as potential clients.

Elizabeth Warhurst, head of legal at NWLDC, said: “This really is the changing face of in-house council legal teams…..We’re very excited about the CapacityGrid model and we’re looking forward to building our client base as a result.”

The CapacityGRID is run by LIberata.
