Midlands housing association issues prior information notice on legal services tender

One of the largest housing associations in the Midlands has issued a prior information notice ahead of a tender for legal services.

The PIN from Midland Heart says that the contract will cover all legal services provisions required outside of the scope of any internal legal team.

This includes the following (expected to be split into lots): Governance, Corporate, Regulatory and Statutory, Treasury and Finance, Securitisation, Housing Management, Homelessness, Home Ownership, Property, Development and Construction, Mutuals, Employment, Pensions and TUPE, Contracts, Commercials, Procurement and Health & Safety.

A contract notice is expected to follow in September setting out full details of the tender process.

The PIN says that Midland Heart intends to use an eTendering system in the procurement exercise and reserves the right to use a reverse auction.

Midland Heart provides 33,000 homes to more than 70,000 customers across 54 local authority areas.

In March 2012 it launched a procurement exercise with Bromford Housing Group for a legal services framework estimated to be worth up to £20m over four years. This contract was due to run until 30 June 2016.
