TLT strengthens social housing team with double partner hire

TLT has bolstered its social housing practice in London with the hire of two partners from Lewis Silkin.

Real estate head Linda Convery and social housing partner Gillian Bastow will join TLT’s 40-strong team on 3 August.

Previous hires by TLT include Kane Kirkbride from Bevan Brittan’s Bristol office.

Convery advises on the development of new social, affordable housing and complex mixed-use regeneration schemes. She also represents a range of organisations involved in retirement housing and Extracare schemes.

Bastow’s practice meanwhile covers a wide range of legal and commercial issues affecting the businesses of social housing providers and relating to the delivery of mixed-use development schemes.

Both partners have experience as board members of housing associations.

Paul Butterworth, head of TLT's social housing team, said: "Linda and Gillian come with huge credibility and experience in the market as one of the leading legal advisory teams in the social housing sector. Their arrival in our London office is a critical part of our UK growth plan.

“Working together, we will have an exceptionally strong proposition and, in particular, on-the-ground support to advise on some of the major regeneration and housing developments in the capital.”

Linda Convery said: “TLT has an excellent and growing reputation in the housing sector, working with a large number of registered providers and local authorities. Joining forces will help us deliver a really strong offering to the sector as it seeks to manage the many challenges of developing social housing in the UK."
