Newham appoints 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square duo for London City Airport planning inquiry

The London Borough of Newham has instructed Simon Randle and Marc Samuels of 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square in a high profile planning appeal relating to the expansion of London City Airport.

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has called-in the proposals for the expansion, which will be subject to a lengthy inquiry.

London City Airport hopes to build additional aircraft infrastructure and passenger facilities, including new taxiways to permit larger aircraft and more car parking spaces, as well as provide a superior design and facia to the airport.

4-5 Gray’s Inn Square said Randle and Samuels would represent Newham throughout the inquiry “and will lend particular expertise in relation to the local authority’s case as to its decision making and the airport’s significant investment in the area”.
