Law Society consults on amendments to Con29 and Con290 enquiry forms

The Law Society is consulting on proposed changes to the Con29 and Con290 enquiry forms used for local authority searches.

The amendments have been proposed to take into account recent changes such as:

  • Assets of community value;
  • The Community Infrastructure Levy;
  • The Green Deal;
  • Reforms contained in the Growth and Infrastructure Act 2013.

Chancery Lane said preliminary negotiations about the proposed changes had taken place with the Local Land Charges Institute and the Local Government Association.

It is now seeking views from solicitors, conveyancers, local authorities, search companies and other stakeholders on the changes and draft revised forms.

The deadline for responses is 1 August 2013. More information on the consultation can be found here.
