Cornerstone Barristers boosts housing and public law practice with double hire

Cornerstone Barristers has bolstered its housing and public law practice with the arrival of two leading juniors.

Andrew Lane and Dean Underwood have joined the set from Hardwicke.

Lane has significant experience in nuisance actions (possession and injunction), tenancy fraud, Equality Act 2010 and Human Rights Act 1998 defences and challenges, homelessness, Part VI allocations, and social landlord and tenant work generally.

He also advises on council tax and social security law, and acts on behalf of local authorities in the Children Act field.

Underwood is a specialist in housing and related public and administrative law, including community care, Court of Protection, homelessness and housing allocation. He has a particular interest in the reform of the welfare benefits system.*

Philip Kolvin QC, recently-appointed head of Cornerstone Barristers, said: “They are both excellent barristers who share our ethos of responsiveness, approachability and the best possible client service.”
