Ex-legal director at equalities watchdog to join 11KBW

The former Legal Director of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Elizabeth Prochaska, will next month (6 January) join leading barristers’ chambers 11KBW.

Prochaska is a public lawyer, specialising in education, equality and human rights law.

11KBW said she also has a growing practice and expertise in investigations, and a keen interest in institutional effectiveness and good governance.

Prochaska, who is a non-executive member of the Bar Standards Board, was recently appointed the new Chair of the Public Law Project.

In 2015 she was appointed First Junior Counsel at the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse. She was responsible for establishing and overseeing 13 investigations into a wide range of institutions, as well as leading the investigation into residential schools.

11KBW said: “Elizabeth’s expertise will add further strength and depth to 11KBW’s already top-ranked key practice areas of public, education, human rights and discrimination law.  In addition, the extensive experience she brings in investigations will consolidate and enhance that rapidly developing area of chambers’ practice.”
