LLG unveils categories open for nominations for 2022 Awards

LLG (Lawyers in Local Government) has announced that there will be five categories open for nominations for its 2022 Awards.

The categories, sponsored by LLG’s corporate partners, are:

  1. LLG Legal Project Team/Individual of the Year: this recognises the outstanding achievement by a local authority lawyer/team in legal work relating to delivery of a major project and/or procurement.
  2. LLG Junior Lawyer of the Year: this recognises a lawyer who is a trainee/apprentice or is less than five years qualified in their professional legal status who has made an exceptional contribution to their legal team, demonstrating a dynamic and innovative approach to achieving the goals of their service and their Authority.
  3. LLG Lawyer of the Year: this recognises outstanding achievement by a Local Government legal professional in any field of legal practice, and/or in relation to the development of legal services delivery or practice.
  4. LLG Legal Team of the Year: this recognises a legal team who can demonstrate the highest levels of creativity, innovation, knowledge, client sensitivity/responsiveness and contribution to corporate, diversity and community objectives. 
  5. LLG Significant Contribution to Local Government Law and Practice: this recognises an individual who has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to the Local Government Legal Profession whilst upholding standards of Public Service. “It acknowledges their dedication to the objectives of LLG and its predecessors together with outstanding achievement in the field of Local Government Law, Practice and/or Governance.”

Entrants should complete the nomination form when submitting their application.

A hybrid awards ceremony will be held at the LLG Spring Conference on 27 May 2022 when winners and placements will be announced.

The virtual ceremony is open to all LLG members, nominated finalists and their confirmed friends and family. Attendance at the ceremony virtually is limited to the first 500 registrations and LLG reserves the right to limit guests to ensure attendance by LLG members and nominated finalists. The ceremony in person is open to all LLG members and nominated finalists subject to availability on a first come, first served basis.
