We are looking for two individuals to join our Highways and Planning Legal team. One role is permanent, the other is a Fixed Term contract for 12 months.

If you have experience in this field or can you evidence good transferable skills to move into this area of the law, we'd like to hear from you.

The Practice

Legal Services Lincolnshire (LSL) is a shared legal service hosted by the county council, offering legal advice to the county council, to six of the county's district and borough councils as well as other public sector clients. We are looking for an enthusiastic lawyer for our highways and planning team who has a passion for local authority work.

The role and area of law

As a highways and planning lawyer you will be providing planning advice and drafting on planning agreements and providing advice on a variety of highways matters and agreements. Attendance and advice at planning committees will be required.  You will be joining a small team of lawyers and legal officers who are responsible for providing timely legal advice to clients and officers. Do you have experience in this field or can you evidence good transferable skills to move into this area of the law?

About you

You will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive, ideally with experience in this field of law. Applications may be considered if you do not have legal experience  of working and advising in this area of the law but you are able to demonstrate transferable legal skills with experience in working in a legal environment/office.  If you have the right skills, attitude and a passion for the role we will help you develop the rest. You will be well supported and we guarantee you will find this a professionally rewarding and fulfilling role!

The council has a smarter working policy which does provide a good degree of flexibility between home and office working. This post does however require some office attendance on a weekly basis and attendance at any court hearings which are not dealt with remotely.

What we offer

We care about our staff so we want to offer you a competitive salary, generous holidays, ability to purchase additional leave, staff benefits scheme and access to our LGPS pension scheme. It is important to us that you have an excellent work/life balance.

Lincolnshire is a great place to live and work. It has an impressive castle and Cathedral, with the medieval quarter being a great contrast to the lively and youthful feel of this University City. If you are looking for an opportunity to work in a beautiful city with a great team of colleagues then look no further, please grasp this exciting opportunity and come and join our team. You won't look back.
