Online - How to Handle a Subject Access Request
Under the UK GDPR individuals have a right to access their personal data held by Data Controllers. However, there are some rules and requirements and some exemptions. Subject Access Requests can present some interesting challenges.
During this full day workshop we will take you through each stage and requirement of a Subject Access Request. From the fundamentals of what the right is and requires through to an in-depth look at exemptions, delegates will come away with a strong set of skills and knowledge on how to handle an SAR.
Key Points:
- What the right of access is
- The definition of Personal Data in relation to an SAR
- The process of handling an SAR – from who can
make one through to enforcement
- Common areas of concern
- Highlighting the need for an exemption and capturing prejudice
- Redaction, scrutiny and complaints/appeals
- Guidance, resources and further skills needed for handling SARs
Testimonials:
