Health and care regulator puts £3.2m in legal work up for grabs

The Health and Care Professions Council has launched a tender exercise for legal services worth an estimated £3.2m over a four-year period.

The council said the provider would be expected “to provide legal services in public law and parliamentary drafting, litigation, information governance, employment law, commercial contract and procurement and public affairs advice”.

It added that interested legal services providers would “need to demonstrate significant expertise and experience in providing legal services across a broad range of advisory areas and a substantial understanding of professional regulation”.

The contract is expected to last from 1 April 2015 to 29 March 2019.

The council regulates health and care professionals in a range of areas.
