Cornerstone barrister appointed to European Commission Expert Group on GDPR

Estelle Dehon of Cornerstone Baristers has been appointed as a member of the European Commission's Expert Group on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The Multi-stakeholder Expert Group will assist the Commission in identifying and addressing potential challenges in implementing the GDPR and will provide advice about national legislation enacting the Regulation. It will also support the Commission with raising awareness about the new data protection regime.

Dehon is one of only two legal practitioners appointed to the 27-member group, which was recruited across all European Member States.

She said: "I am delighted to be appointed to this privileged position and am looking forward to the new insights into the GDPR that this role will provide."
