North Wales social landlord to appoint legal advisers to £1.2m panels

A Registered Social Landlord in North Wales has kicked off the procurement of legal panels worth up to £1.2m over four years.

Cartrefi Conwy, which has more than 3,700 properties, was formed in 2008 as part of a stock transfer from Conwy County Borough Council.

The RSL currently spends approximately £200,000 per annum, but said this “comes in peaks and troughs with limited predictability”.

It estimated the value of expenditure during the life of the framework agreement to be between £600,000 and £1.2m.

The RSL added: “Over the duration of this proposed framework Cartrefi Conwy is seeking to expand the organisation via variety of methods and this may contribute to further spikes in expenditure on legal services.”

There will be six lots (the values are estimates for four years via a maximum of three supplier per lot):

1. Corporate (£200,000);

2. Funding (£60,000);

3. Housing Management (£140,000);

4. HR and Employment (£120,000);

5. Property, Land and Development (£100,000);

6. Fixed annual service (£220,000). This service includes conveyancing and property transactions, anti-social behaviour issues, and the provision of ‘community’ advice.

Cartrefi Conwy It said it envisaged a maximum number of 18 participants to the framework agreement.
