Borough council awards £4.25m child law contract to single provider

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council has awarded a £4.25m, five-year contract to Cygnet Family Law to provide legal advice and support for its decision making in relation to children

The local authority said the successful firm would meet the council’s needs in respect of its responsibilities to children and young people for:

• General legal advice in public and private cases;
• Litigation through legal proceedings in the courts;
• Training for social workers in the legal aspects of child care work

The contract runs from today (4 July) until 30 June 2021.
