Scottish transport body unveils plans to set up legal services framework

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport has issued a prior information notice on its plans to set up a legal services framework in support of its in-house legal team.

The framework, worth an estimated £200,000, would cover (in a single lot):

• Litigation including, but not limited to, acting for SPT in proceedings for judicial review and debt recovery matters;
• Employment law advice and litigation, including representing SPT at the Employment Tribunal;
• Planning, environmental, property and real estate advice, including servitudes, leases, licences, compulsory purchase and development agreements;
• Corporate, corporate finance, tax and commercial contract advice, including the creation of joint venture companies;
• Intellectual property and information technology advice, including copyright and patent;
• Information governance, including Freedom of Information, Data Protection and records management;
• Procurement law.

It is anticipated that the contract will be for a period of four years with an option of up to an additional 12 months. The contract start date is scheduled for July 2017.

A meeting with suppliers is to be held on 24 February to discuss SPT’s requirement.
