GMC issues tender for £1m in advocacy work before Interim Orders Tribunal

The General Medical Council (GMC) has issued a tender for the provision of all advocacy before the Interim Orders Tribunal sitting in Manchester.

Worth an estimated £1m, the contract is to run for 24 months plus a potential 12 month extension.

The GMC has stressed that the tender does not include advocacy services in relation to applications for extension orders in the High Court or for defending challenges issued in the High Court under the provisions of s.41A(10) of the Medical Act 1983 against Interim Orders.
