LLG Southern Branch begins procurement of £4.3m legal services framework

The Southern Branch of Lawyers in Local Government has kicked off the procurement of a legal services framework worth an estimated £4.3m over three years.

The framework will involve call-off arrangements for the following lots:

  1. Planning
  2. Property
  3. Employment
  4. Commercial
  5. Civil and Criminal Litigation
  6. Adult Services
  7. Childcare Services
  8. General Local Government Matters
  9. Monitoring Officer Support

Following evaluation of the tenders and approval of the outcome the 33 participating authorities intend to appoint a maximum of eight suppliers for each lot.

Each appointed tenderer will be required to enter into a contract with the participating authorities. The contracts are expected to start on 1 July 2017 and run until 30 June 2020, should the option to extend for 12 months be taken up. Call off contracts will be awarded by direct award.

“The objective of entering into such framework agreements is to support the participating authorities’ existing in-house legal teams,” the authorities said.

The procurement is being led by Wiltshire Council.
