The Crescent Purchasing Consortium, which is owned by bodies in the further education sector, has begun the procurement of its second legal services framework, which this time is estimated to be worth up to £46m over three years.

The contract is due to start on 2 April 2018 and run until 1 April 2021.

The 14 lots are:

  1. East Anglia
  2. East Midlands
  3. London
  4. Northern Ireland
  5. North East England
  6. North West England
  7. Scotland
  8. South East England
  9. South West England
  10. Wales
  11. West Midlands
  12. Yorkshire
  13. Channel Islands
  14. National One-Stop-Shop

There will be a maximum of six suppliers awarded a place on each of the fourteen lots.

The CPC said the agreement would be open for use by all contracting authorities across the public sector throughout the UK.

These include central government departments and agencies, non departmental public bodies, NHS bodies, local authorities, police authorities, emergency services, educational establishments, hospices, registered charities, national parks and registered social landlords.

In January 2014 the CPC named 21 law firms to its first framework, which contained 14 lots. This exercise was run on behalf of a consortium of further education institutions, including academies, and the North East Universities Consortium.
