Academy trust to source £400k in high-level employment law advice

The Derby Diocesan Academy Trust, which comprises 18 primary schools in the area, is to set up a £400,000, five-year contract for high-level human resources legal support and advice.

The trust expects a secondary school to join in September 2018 and to grow in size to 36 schools within the next two years.

It said: “The trust currently employs a HR officer and the support will be to assist them on areas such as strategic HR support and guidance, employment legislation, advise on issues and disputes between employers and trade unions/teaching associations within the trust, policies and procedures, disciplinary and grievances, absence management procedures, contracts of employment and training.

“The support required will be mainly via telephone and email with some face to face support required such as attending TUPE meetings.”
