Housing Associations Legal Alliance names 12 firms to £6.4m legal panel
The Housing Associations’ Legal Alliance (HALA) has appointed 12 law firms to a new Solicitors panel worth £6.4m over four years.
HALA, which was launched in 2010 with four housing associations, currently comprises 15 members and a housing stock of 100,000 units in the UK.
The procurement process was managed by legal consultants Kennedy Cater.
The successful firms were:
- Batchelors (new)
- Bevan Brittan
- BLM
- Capsticks
- Clarke Willmott
- Devonshires
- Hugh James (new)
- Penningtons Manches
- Prince Evans
- TLT
- Tozers, and
- Trowers & Hamlins (new).
The framework covers three lots:
- Corporate, Finance and Governance,
- Housing and Asset Management, and
- Property and Development.
It will run for a period of three years, from 1 September 2018 until 31 August 2021, with the option to extend for a further 12 months.

HALA members comprise Advance, BME London, Hastoe Group, Hexagon, Merlin Housing Society, Islington & Shoreditch Housing Association, Newlon Housing Trust, Origin Housing, Octavia Housing, Optivo Homes, Phoenix Community Homes, Saxon Weald, Shepherds Bush Housing Association, Wandle and Wellingborough Homes.
