Regulator of Social Housing names six law firms to £1m panel
The Regulator of Social Housing has appointed six law firms to a legal services framework worth an estimated £1m.
The move is the latest stage in the shake-up of what was the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA).
On 11 January 2018, the HCA’s non-regulation arm adopted a new trading name Homes England and acts as the national housing agency.
From that point, the HCA’s regulation directorate, which undertook the functions of the Regulation Committee, has referred to itself as the Regulator of Social Housing.
Until legislation is enacted, Homes England and RSH continue to be constituted as one body – the HCA – but operate with two distinct corporate identities.
In May Homes England named 13 law firms to a £30m legal services panel for non-regulation work.
Now the Regulator of Social Housing has launched its own framework agreement, which is divided into two lots:
- General: a general framework to deliver support on public / administrative law and regulatory law; charity law; and corporate, commercial and financial law.
- Specialist: A specialist panel to deliver support on insolvency and / or special administration law.
The successful firms were:
- CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang (lot 2)
- Devonshires (1, 2)
- Field Fisher (1)
- Mills & Reeve (1, 2)
- Norton Rose Fulbright (2)
- Trowers & Hamlins (1, 2)
Both lots were awarded on the basis of quality (weighting: 80) and price (weighting: 20).
