Peabody Trust names 13 firms to £16m, post-merger legal framework

One of the UK’s largest housing associations, the Peabody Trust, has appointed 13 law firms to a legal services framework worth an estimated £16m.

The framework follows the merger of the Peabody Trust and other members of its group with the Family Mosaic Housing group in June 2017. The new organisation has 111,000 residents and 8,000 care and support customers.

The framework has been divided into the following lots:

  1. Asset Management and Property.
  2. Development and Construction.
  3. Corporate, Commercial and Governance.
  4. Corporate Finance and Treasury.
  5. Residential Conveyancing.
  6. Care & Support.
  7. Major Contract/ Commercial Disputes.

The successful firms were:

  • Bevan Brittan (lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
  • Blake Morgan (1, 2, 7)
  • Capsticks (3, 6)
  • Clarke Willmott (1, 4)
  • Devonshires (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
  • Gateley (7)
  • Hugh James (7)
  • Mills & Reeve (2)
  • Penningtons Manches (2, 4, 5, 7)
  • Sharratts (5)
  • TLT (1, 2, 3, 6)
  • Trowers & Hamlins (1, 2, 3, 4, 6)
  • Winckworth Sherwood (2, 4, 5)

The procurement is anticipated to cover almost all of the newly merged Peabody Trust’s requirement for legal services over the four years from 2019–2022.

The Peabody Trust said its priorities included delivering good and reliable services to its customers, building 2,500 new homes each year by 2021 and taking the next steps in the regeneration of Thamesmead, London’s new town.
