LBLA names 26 chambers to £55m advocacy and related legal services framework agreement

The London Boroughs Legal Alliance (LBLA) has named 26 barristers’ chambers to a specialist advocacy and related legal services framework worth an estimated £55m over four years.

The LBLA is made up of the City of London Corporation, the London Boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Bromley, Camden, Ealing, Greenwich, Hackney, Hammersmith and Fulham, Haringey, Harrow, Havering, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Islington, Kensington and Chelsea, Newham, Redbridge, Waltham Forest and Westminster, and the London Fire Brigade.

The framework was divided into the following lots:

  1. Adult Social Services.
  2. Children’s Services.
  3. Governance & Public Law.
  4. Criminal Litigation & Prosecutions.
  5. Housing.
  6. Planning.
  7. Property.
  8. Civil Litigation.

The successful chambers were:

The contracting authority for the procurement was the City of London Corporation. Legal management consultancy Kennedy Cater manages the framework for the LBLA.

The advocacy framework will be made available to other local authorities in London and the South East of England.

It will run for a period of three years commencing on 1 January 2020, with an option to extend for a further year.
