Bevan Brittan strengthens Birmingham property practice with Pinsents hire

Bevan Brittan has bolstered its property team in Birmingham with hire of Rebecca Pendlebury from Pinsent Masons as a partner.

The firm has also promoted two senior associates – Dan Morris (Clinical Risk, London) and Mark Robertson (Property, Birmingham) – to partner.

At Bevan Brittan Pendlebury will focus primarily on public sector led large scale, high value, development schemes.

She said: “I am very excited about joining Bevan Brittan which has a strong reputation in the marketplace, and am also very pleased to be joining the firm at a time when Birmingham and the Midlands are seeing some of their highest ever levels of development.

“There are many new and exciting schemes being planned within the region, particularly within the public sector where local authorities are taking the lead in bringing public-private partnerships together.”

Morris specialises in defending clinical negligence cases and has defended a wide variety of cases to trial and appeal, including complex surgical, neurosurgical, intensive care, obstetric and orthopaedic cases. He works closely with NHS Resolution and a number of NHS Trusts in London and the South East.

Robertson specialises in property law, particularly property-related disputes. He advises on all aspects of commercial landlord and tenant law including dilapidations claims, business tenancy renewals, tenant default and service charge disputes.

In addition, Bevan Brittan has promoted one lawyer to senior associate – Julia Jones (Clinical Risk, Birmingham) – and three lawyers to associate – Jessica Irvine (Procurement and Litigation, Bristol), Jordan Ropati (Construction & Infrastructure, London), and Charles Stent (Property, Leeds).

Duncan Weir, managing partner at Bevan Brittan, said: “I am delighted that a partner with Rebecca’s qualities is joining the firm. We are building an impressive capability not only in our Birmingham office, but also within our wider property, infrastructure and housing teams – to support what is clearly a thriving regeneration sector in many parts of the country.

“I am also very pleased that we have created two new partners in Dan and Mark, and promoted a number of others in addition. This is a testament to their hard work and professionalism.”
