DVLA appoints law firm to £830k contract advising on exit from property PFI deal

The DVLA has handed law firm Gowling WLG a two-year contract worth more than £830,000 to advise on the expiry of a major PFI agreement.

The DVLA said: “The requirement is for the provision of Private Finance Initiative (PFI) Exit, Expiry and Transition Services. This contract is a key activity to support the handback of the Estate from the current Facilities Management (FM) vendor, Telereal Trillium, when their existing PFI contract expires in 2025.

“The services will support the DVLA Exit and Transition team and will be managed within Estates Management Group with support from the Facilities Management Category within Commercial Directorate.”

The contract started on 24 March 2021 and will run until 23 March 2023.

It was awarded via a call off from a framework agreement.
