Robbie is a planning and infrastructure lawyer and Head of Major Projects at Bircham Dyson Bell.   He is also a Roll 'A' Parliamentary Agent.

He has over 20 years’ experience of successfully promoting and opposing a wide range of infrastructure and other major projects, e.g. ports, railways, roads, urban transit systems and water projects,  advising both the public and private sector, promoters and objectors.  He heads up one of the largest planning law teams in the UK which is supported by an in-house public affairs and communications consultancy.

Since 2007 Robbie has been a member of the Planning Sounding Board, set up by the Cabinet Office and now run by CLG to give advice and views in relation to the May 2007 planning white paper and the subsequent Planning Act 2008.  Robbie also co-edits Butterworths Planning Law: A Practical Guide to National Infrastructure Projects, written by Bircham Dyson Bell and first published in July 2009.

Robbie speaks frequently on these topics, for example, at the transport and planning conferences organised by The Waterfront Conference Company. In September 2007 he gave a paper at the 35th Joint Planning Law Conference on European nature conservation sites and the appropriate assessment of plans and projects, which is available here.

Robbie is hugely popular with clients and has featured in The Legal 500, Chambers and The Lawyer’s Hot 100.
