John specialises in town and country planning matters: whether non-contentious e.g. general advice and the drafting and negotiation of section 106 obligations, highway and other infrastructure agreements; or contentious e.g. appeals by way of public local inquiry and challenges of planning decisions in the courts.

In addition, he advises on related development matters, the stopping up, diversion or other closure of highways, and compulsory purchase and compensation issues.

John is a member of the City of London Law Society (Planning and Environmental Law) Sub-Committee.
