VWV bolsters public sector team with hire of former local authority strategic director

Law firm VWV has hired a former Strategic Director at Winchester City Council as a new consultant in its Public Sector team, based in Bristol.

Lisa Kirkman has a focus on governance reviews and investigations. VWV said she also “brings unique insight having led teams beyond the legal sphere” in areas such as audit, finance, procurement and contract management, policy, emergency planning and business continuity, communications, democratic services, elections, IT and HR.

Kirkman trained and qualified at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, spending a further 17 years working her way up to Head of Law & Governance and Monitoring Officer before moving to Winchester.

Kirkman said: "I'm delighted to be joining VWV's Public Sector team. The internal workings of a council and decision-making processes are complex and politics challenging. I can understand quickly, cut through these issues and add value. I am confident the services I can offer, combined with the public sector expertise of VWV, will improve outcomes to new and existing clients alike."
