University names nine providers to £3.8m legal services panel

Nottingham Trent University has appointed seven law firms and two patent and trade mark attorneys to a legal services framework worth an estimated £3.8m over four years.

The contract was divided into the following lots:

  • Lot 1a: Property/Real Estate.
  • Lot 1b: Construction.
  • Lot 2a: Human Resources.
  • Lot 2b: Human Resources Retention (including Human Resources dispute resolution).
  • Lot 3: Dispute Resolution.
  • Lot 4: Commercial and Corporate Services.
  • Lot 5: Student Matters.
  • Lot 6: Patent Management.

The successful firms were:

  • Eversheds Sutherland (2b)
  • Freeths (1a, 1b, 2a)
  • Mills & Reeve (3, 4, 5)
  • Pinsent Masons (1b)
  • Shakespeare Martineau (2a, 3, 4, 5)
  • Veale Wasbrough Vizards (1a, 1b, 2a, 4)
  • Wilson Gunn (6)

The contract started on 2 February 2022 and will run initially for two years, up to a maximum period of four years subject to satisfactory performance.

The university said that it was critical tenderers develop “an understanding of the organisational aims, tasks and risks, the working environment and culture and requirements of NTU”.
