Housing association group puts £8m in legal work up for grabs

One of the UK’s largest housing association groups has launched the procurement of a legal services framework worth up to £8m over a four-year period.
Circle manages 65,000 homes and provides services for around 300,000 people.
Circle Anglia is purchasing on behalf of a number of other contracting authorities in the Circle Group. There are 12 partners including Mercian Housing Association, Merton Priory Homes, South Anglia Housing and Mole Valley Housing Association.
The framework agreement will cover 2014 to 2017 and has an estimated value ranging from £4-8m.
The legal services to be covered are: “conveyancing and development, construction advice, contracts and procurement advice and drafting, litigation (in particular housing management litigation), commercial litigation, employment advice and litigation, mergers and acquisitions (particularly in the healthcare sector), governance and policy advice (particularly in relation to housing association structures and regulation), financial transactions and structures (including treasury management and taxation), risk management and insurance advice, other miscellaneous legal advice, representation and transactional work.”
The relevant lots are:
- Employment and pensions;
- Property and development;
- Housing management and general litigation;
- Mergers and acquisitions;
- General legal services.
Circle Anglia expects the maximum number of participants to be 18.
