Law firm Bevan Brittan has strengthened its housing practice with the appointment of two partners who specialise in housing management.

Neil Brand and John Cox have joined the firm from Clarke Willmott where they were partner and senior associate respectively.

Brand, who will be based in Bevan Brittan’s London office, specialises in leasehold matters and commonly works with social housing landlords, arm’s length management organisations, registered providers, and others.

Cox, who will work in the Leeds office, specialisms include contentious housing matters, advising landlords on such issues as breach of covenants, nuisance, possession and subletting. He previously worked in local government for ten years and also worked at Walker Morris.

Brand said: “Bevan Brittan has an exciting vision for its housing practice and has bolstered its team with highly experienced specialists who together can bring something new and offer bespoke and flexible solutions for clients.”

Cox said: “I am delighted to have joined Bevan Brittan, which is a forward-thinking and progressive firm with a long-established presence in public sector and private markets.  We want to help providers and landlords manage their portfolios successfully and get the best out of what they have.”

Bevan Brittan’s Head of Housing, Jonathan Turner added: “We are very pleased to have brought Neil and John on board. Giving us a ‘triangle’ of housing management partners, their arrival has boosted our housing management offering and given it national coverage. Along with their colleagues in the wider Housing practice, we are focused on growing a long-term sustainable team with increased capacity to help us service a growing client list.”
