The President of the Family Division has issued guidance intended to clarify the legal requirements and practical arrangements for final hearings in adoption applications and adoption visits.
The guidance issued by Sir James Munby covers:
- The adoption application
- First directions hearing
- Notice of final hearing
- Application for leave to oppose
- Practical arrangements for the final hearing
- Adoption visit.
The guidance can be viewed here. It replaces the ‘President’s Guidance: Listing Final Hearings in Adoption cases’ of 3 October 2008.
