Education regulator in Wales awards £1.7m contract to law firm

The Education Workforce Council in Wales has awarded a £1.7m contract to law firm Kingsley Napley to provide presenting officer services.

The services will support the organisation’s fitness to practise work.

Two tenders were received, with the contract being awarded on the basis of technical and quality (weighting: 70%) and price (weighting: 30%).

The EWC was established by the Education (Wales) Act 2014. Under the Act the General Teaching Council for Wales was reconfigured and renamed to become the EWC, which came into being on 1 April 2015.
