High speed rail operator to procure £15m legal services framework

HS1 Ltd, which has the 30-year concession to own and operate High Speed 1 (the UK’s first section of high-speed rail), is to appoint providers to a legal services framework worth an estimated £15m over seven years.

The framework has been divided into eight lots:

  1. General Commercial Legal Services
  2. Employment Law and Pensions
  3. Property and Leases
  4. Corporate Finance and Tax
  5. Regulatory Advisory Services
  6. Construction Law Advisory Services
  7. Litigation Advisory Services
  8. General Corporate and Company Secreteriat

The framework is expected to last for five years with the option of two further 12-month extensions at HS1’s discretion.

High Speed 1 is the rail line between St Pancras International in London and the Channel Tunnel and connects with the international high-speed routes between London and Paris, and London and Brussels.

HS1 also operates the stations along the High Speed 1 route: St Pancras International, Stratford International, Ebbsfleet International and Ashford International.

In July 2017 HS1 Ltd was acquired by a consortium comprising of funds advised and managed by InfraRed Capital Partners and Equitix Investment Management.
