University to appoint external law firm for support to in-house legal team

The University of Portsmouth is looking to appoint an external law firm to work in partnership with its in-house legal team on a three to five-year deal.
It said: “We are looking for a firm that is willing to become familiar with how the University operates, has empathy with our vision and values and can act as our trusted advisor.”
The university said it anticipated that it would require support in a range of areas including: Procurement law, State aid law, Commercial property and construction law, Charities law, Civil litigation support, Commercial and company law, Employment and immigration law, Intellectual property law, Data protection and freedom of information law, Pension law, International law, Education law, Compliance with relevant Government policy and guidance, Regulatory/professional standards.
The contract will be for three years with an option to extend for an additional two years.
The start date for the contract is 13 January 2020 and the end date is 12 January 2023.
