Education group to appoint providers to legal services contract

The Luminate Education Group, which has more than 22,000 students, is seeking to appoint a contractor or contractors to provide legal services.

The members of the group are Leeds City College, Keighley College, Harrogate College, White Rose Academies and Leeds College of Music. There are also two distinct sub-brands of Leeds City College: Leeds Sixth Form College and University Centre Leeds.

The group said it intends to divide the contracts into the following lots:

  1. Employment and HR.
  2. Property and estate law.
  3. Commercial, contract and general legal advice.

Luminate said providers may bid on 1, 2 or all three lots with each lot being individually assessed and judged accordingly.

It added that Luminate Education Group as a whole and the sub-group the White Rose Academies Trust would be awarding their contracts individually due to the distinct requirements between FE/HE and academy specific legal needs.

The contracts are expected to last 36 months with a possible 12-month renewal at mutual agreement of both parties.
