Trowers & Hamlins bolsters regeneration practice with Plumley hire

Trowers & Hamlins has strengthened its regeneration practice with the hire of Chris Plumley as a partner in the firm’s Public Sector Commercial Team based in Birmingham.

Plumley was previously a lead partner in the local government practice at Anthony Collins Solicitors, specialising in public sector property development and regeneration projects.

Trowers & Hamlins said: “An active and well-known figure in the sector, Chris is a passionate advocate for, and ‘unlocker’ of, complex urban renewal projects, having earned the trust of a large number of local authority chief executives over his many years of service in the public sector.”

Plumley said: “Building new places for people to live and work is surely one of the most exciting parts of working hand-in-glove with local authorities and other public bodies. Whether we call it place shaping, urban renewal or regeneration; making a difference to the built environment has been at the heart of my career for many years.”

James Hawkins, Partner and Head of Public Sector Commercial at Trowers & Hamlins, said: "Chris has built a strong reputation among key players in public authority-led urban regeneration projects. His experience and expertise has helped bring forward many high-profile projects with his genuine care for the communities in which he works.”

Amardeep Gill, Head of the firm’s Birmingham office, added: “As we continue to build our business in Birmingham, this significant appointment demonstrates our commitment to being part of the growth and development of the Midlands. With the rise of the regions in the UK and the importance of the Midlands Engine in the UK economy, we want to be fully equipped to help deliver large urban projects across the UK, Christopher will be instrumental in helping us do just that.”
