Norris appointed interim monitoring officer at combined authority

Howard Norris has been appointed interim Monitoring Officer at the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority.

Succeeding Patrick Arran as the senior lawyer to the authority, Norris has been appointed until May 2019 or until the permanent appointment of a senior lawyer, whichever is the sooner.

Norris was Solicitor and Monitoring Officer at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service between August 2006 and July 2018.

Prior to that he was Solicitor to the Council, Head of Governance and Monitoring Officer at Warrington Borough Council for 11 years.

The combined authority has meanwhile continue with the existing joint arrangements where John Hill and Kim Sawyer act as interim chief executives.

A further report on the future arrangements for the chief executive role will be put forward at the next meeting of the combined authority’s board in May 2019.
