Clinical negligence and PI specialist named High Court judge

A clinical negligence and personal injury specialist and former chair of the Bar Council has been appointed a Justice of the High Court.
Derek Sweeting QC’s appointment will take effect from 11 January 2022.
Sweeting was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1983 and took Silk in 2001. He was Chair of the Bar Council of England & Wales in 2021.
He is one of a number of appointments to the High Court in recent months. Others were:
