HB Public Law takes on five trainees as volumes of work grow

Shared legal practice HB Public Law has recruited five trainees – its first intake for a number of years – in response to growing volumes of work.

HB Public Law was originally set up in 2012 as a shared legal practice for Harrow and Barnet councils.

Since then it has expanded to also include Hounslow, Aylesbury and Buckinghamshire councils. It now employs some 170 lawyers.

HB Public Law said the five trainees were the successful candidates out of many hundreds, and would soon take up their two-year training contracts.

Jessica Farmer, Head of Legal Practice at HB Public Law, said: “We are delighted to be in a position to start taking trainees again. Due to our volumes of work, we plan to have an intake at least every two years now.

“Trainees are the future lifeblood of the profession after all, so we’re happy to be able to provide a number of positions. We had many bright, keen and enthusiastic applicants and are delighted with the individuals who have been successful. I hope they will really enjoy their training contracts with us and gain a thorough grounding in all the key aspects of local authority legal work.”
