CPS wins ‘Going Paperless Project of the Year 2017’
- Details
The Crown Prosecution Service has won the “Going Paperless Project of the Year 2017” award, for implementing its Digital Case System (CCDCS) in the Crown Court.
The Paperless Awards are designed to recognise UK public sector bodies and their commercial partners who are making progress towards creating a paperless environment.
CCDCS is a cloud-based software solution to facilitate case disclosure, preparation, in-court presentation and collaboration. It allows the Crown Court case bundle for a complex trial to be easily marked-up, navigated and used in real time in the courtroom.
All professional parties including the prosecution, defence, HMCTS, judge and probation can access it, upload documents, annotate and use it to assist them to present cases in the courtroom digitally without the need for paper.
The CPS used CaseLines for the project. David Jackson, the company’s Managing Director, said: “We would like to send our congratulations, firstly to the CPS and also to all those in HMCTS, the judiciary and the defence community who made CCDCS such a success, now rightly recognised with this prestigious award."
