Health, public sector and education work sees turnover grow at Browne Jacobson

Browne Jacobson recorded £66.8m in turnover for the financial year ending 30 April 2017, a rise of 5% in work done compared to the previous year.

The law firm said the growth was “driven by strong activity across many of its sectors and service lines, notably health, public sector and education”.

The year saw Browne Jacobson hire 13 new partners and unveil plans to relocate its Manchester operation to No1 Spinningfields in the city's business district.

New clients the firm added during the period included Avery Healthcare, BUPA, Department for Business Energy & Industrial Strategy, Department for International Development, Ericsson, Ferrero Group, Investec Bank plc, Kernow CCG, Oil and Gas Authority, Persimmon Homes, PureGym, Qualification Wales, Sandoz, Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

The firm also highlighted its appointment as advisors to the Homes and Communities Agency’s Home Building Fund, Churchmarketplace for HR services, and a full service appointment to North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. It was also reappointed by NHS Resolution, Medical Protection Society, Crown Commercial Service and the National Audit Office.

Iain Blatherwick, Managing Partner, said: “This is the eighth year in succession that we have delivered growth.

“Despite the lingering uncertainty over Brexit and growing price pressures, I am delighted that we have successfully maintained the momentum we have built over many years whilst continuing to invest in key areas.

“Whilst we expect the next 12 months to be just as challenging we are quietly confident that we will be able to continue to grow the business across all our key sectors.”
