Cardiff University to undertake market engagement for legal services procurement
- Details
Cardiff University has given notice of its plans to run a procurement to establish a legal services framework for representation and advice in relation to a wide range of its legal needs.
The university expects the framework to run for an initial two years with the option to extend in one year periods, at its discretion, for a further two periods (four years maximum).
“The framework will likely cover a wide range of legal disciplines including, but not limited to, the following areas of law: Property; Projects; Employment; Commercial; Corporate; IP; and Higher Education,” it said.
The university will be undertaking an early market engagement exercise to enable it to engage with suppliers “to better understand the market and explore potential ways of structuring how it engages it external legal services”.
This activity will include a supplier engagement day, subject to sufficient interest from the market.
The university said it was currently undecided as to how this framework would be lotted (i.e. how many lots, the scope of each lot etc) but suggested that any market engagement would assist in determining how best to split the framework.
It is estimated that the framework procurement would commence summer 2018.
