LGSS Law upgrades technology with practice management software from DPS

LGSS Law, the shared legal service owned by Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Central Bedfordshire Councils, has chosen DPS Software as it seeks to upgrade its technology.

It said the automation provided by new IT systems would allow case workers to access and produce information quicker and easier “thus increasing the speed and productivity of the entire fee earning team”.

DPS Software’s practice management software was selected for both the fee earning and the accounting sides of the firm, which was one of the first local authority-owned providers to obtain an alternative business structure licence.

Gareth Britten, the Project Manager at LGSS Law who was heavily involved in the decision-making process, said: ‘’We needed an integrated system that would comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and offer us the level of automation we needed to move forward. We identified DPS’s practice management software as the solution we required to gain efficiencies and enhance the quality of our legal services.’’

Osman Ismail, the Founding Director of DPS said: ‘’LGSS Law is a very progressive ABS who has achieved impressive results in a short amount of time. We are eager to witness their progress in the years to come as they use our technology to support their growth.’’

LGSS has recorded a turnover of £6.5m and is projecting an increase of 30% for the next year, up to £500,000.

“The financial information and statistics provided by the new practice management system will be instrumental to analysing specific areas of profitability and identifying areas of improvement,” it said.
